That's right, it's been 10 years since the very first Save The Giants Jam, when a small group of musicians and concerned citizens got together to play music and raise awareness about the fate of the beautiful giant sequoias of Martins Street. Back then we had no idea if we could actually save the giants. In fact, most of us thought we couldn't, but we wanted people to be aware of what was going on, and we didn't want to to loose more giant trees around our city. But now here we are, 10 years later, and the giants are growing strong. The land is a widely visited park, and the actions of the the people who stood up to speak for the trees caused the city council to amend the tree code. These three trees have in turn saved hundreds more across our city, and we think that's something worth celebrating. So please join us on Saturday, June 21st, for a 10th anniversary Jam! We'll have 3 bands, cold drinks, and big beautiful trees overhead. More details to come soon!
